Workshop Title: “Bump n’ Grind 101!”
What to Bring: Clothing item to tease!
Experience Level: Beginner/Introductory!

Description: Bump n’ Grind is apart of the foundations of classic burlesque movements! In this workshop Zyra will teach you what bump n’ grind is and how to do it!
This class will start with a mini lecture on the history of bump n’ grind movement and its historical significance within burlesque routines! We will then get into learning how to bump, and how to grind as well different variations on bumps and grinds. Afterwards we’ll explore learning how to be bump n’ grind to not just standard burlesque jazz music, but also modern music such as HipHop, rock and pop! We’ll conclude the class with a mini bump n’ grind choreography lesson and learning how to incorporate a tease into our bump n’ grind!
Overall Objective: Learn how to bump n’ grind in burlesque!

Go Slow

Description: Feeling the need for less speed? Lyra la Belle is peeling back the layers and slowing it right down. Focusing on slow intentional movements and combinations.
Learn how to sit comfortably in those heart-stopping, jaw-dropping moments of audience connection.

Description: Do you want to be remembered? In a lineup of performers, do you want to be the one that sticks out in their memories? To be remembered you must engage with your audience – you need to get them to emotionally participate – and not just one of them – all of them. Smash that fourth wall!
This workshop teaches you the concepts of tease (the antici…pation) some you may know already and some of Lyra’s own personal tricks. Culminating in a sexy and sultry group routine.
Overall Objective: Learn how to stand out, concepts of tease!

Traplesque 101

Description: Known as Canada’s Traplesque seductress, Zyra often uses elements of classic costuming and movement against trap music to create dynamic, edgy and fun neo acts.
Performing to trap music is all about attitude, unapologetically living and having fun! In this class Zyra will teach you how to own all of that! This class will answer the questions, what is trap music? what are the benefits of using trap music in a burlesque routine? How does one create an exciting Traplesque number? Zyra will explain to you how to create a dynamic traplesque routine through fun movement based exercises. She will also discuss & showcase the 4 elements of a Traplesque number as well as present a mini lesson on the history of trap music!
Overall Objective: Learn how to tease to trap music and create a Traplesque routine!

Trap music is a style of hip-hop that sprung out of the southern rap scene in the 1990s. Trap music is typified by its multilayered and percussive sound.
