A Taste of Tease is an invitation to explore the joyful, sensual world of classic burlesque. Under the warm, motivational guidance of RedBone, “The Cyclone of Burlesque,” you’ll learn the foundational building blocks of the art form—from magnetic struts and dramatic tension to playful bumps, grinds, and shimmies. More than just a dance class, this is an incredibly supportive, body-affirming sanctuary. It’s a space to connect with your desires, embrace self-love, and celebrate exactly who you are. No experience required—just a willingness to play!

In Class Schedule (Subject to Change)

Warm-up (cardio, stretch, bevels)

– Bevels/Walking in Heels/Struts

– Bumps/Grinds/Shimmy

– Peels & Reveals

– Choreo

What to Bring

Footwear:  We’ll start with barefoot or socks and transition to heels you’re comfortable dancing in. I highly suggest good quality ballroom/latin dance heels

Attire: Wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move and stretch in as well as a hoodie/sweatshirt/robe with zipper, buttons or tie as we will work with peels & reveals

Also bring: Water, towel, knee pads (highly suggested)

RedBone is an internationally recognized entertainer, emcee, producer & educator. With 20+ years of experience, she teaches dance & performance skills through the lenses of neo-burlesque, classic dance techniques, theater, and breaking/hip hop. As 2019 Burlesque Hall of Fame Princess & 2016-2023 21st Century Burlesque Magazine Top 50 Most Influential Industry Figures, The Cyclone of Burlesque is bringing a unique perspective, honest guidance, and a wide range of knowledge with a gentle hand to practitioners of burlesque. RedBone curates classes and workshops annually at The African American Arts & Culture Complex in SF & Flux Vertical Theatre in Berkeley in Spring & Fall and for The Bay Area Legends Challenge Fundraiser. Recently she’s been a featured teacher at Slut Camp, The Atlanta School of Burlesque, What The Funk!? and BurlyCon.

Style: Floorwork

Experience Level: Beginner to Intermediate. You will need to be comfortable with being on the dance. Floor and sliding around.

Duration: 60 Minutes

Workshop Description
Learn seductive dance floor moves, channelling some serious feline energy, and have you crawling on the floor and kicking your heels up with reckless abandon in no time. Release your inhibitions and explore the seductive world of erotic burlesque floorwork!

What to Bring
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and good in! – Ideas: tank top, yoga pants,
snug fitness/dance wear, dance tights/fishnets, or shorts with leg warmers or long socks. Its also good to bring an oversized shirt as we can use it to take off during the routine. If you want to wear some sexy lingerie underneath, go for it!
Knee pads are HIGHLY recommended (if you don’t have kneepads, wear long tights and over-the-knee socks to help protect your knees and allow you to slide)
Footwear options: Heels encouraged (but optional). High heels with a strap, 6-inch dance heels with a strap, dance boots, thigh-high boots, Latin dance heels, or barefoot

What to bring: bottled water, a sweat towel and an open mind!

Workshop Description
2019 Burlesque Hall of Fame Princess, RedBone, will teach you some fundamentals of floorwork, which is something every burlesque performer needs!

Stop – teaches you to hold your space within your movement and utilize your breath to engage your next movement/step!

Drop – basic transitions to the floor to make your act even more dynamic with physical levels.

Roll – gives you what to do when you are down there…a roll or spin that will make anyone sizzle and give you the confidence to work it out on the floor!

Dolores Daiquiri is one of Australia’s most respected burlesque producers, performers, and creative directors. With more than two decades in the industry, she has been instrumental in the modern revival of burlesque in Australia and is recognised as one of the country’s pioneering artists.

Affectionately known as “Australia’s Original Classic Tease Queen” and celebrated for her signature blend of vintage glamour, impeccable comic timing, and captivating stage presence, Dolores has built an extraordinary career both on and behind the stage. Beginning as a troupe performer before launching her solo career in 2009, she has headlined and featured in countless productions, festivals, corporate events, media launches, and special events throughout Australia and internationally.

Beyond performing, Dolores has become one of the driving forces behind Australia’s burlesque community. She is the Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Australian Burlesque Festival™, Australia’s original national touring burlesque festival, now celebrating over seventeen years of championing world-class burlesque, cabaret, and variety entertainment. Under her leadership, the festival has provided performance opportunities for hundreds of Australian and international artists while helping shape the growth and recognition of burlesque across the country.

As Co-Founder and Director of Cherry Daiquiri Productions, Dolores has produced hundreds of acclaimed live events, specialising in classic burlesque, cabaret, and variety entertainment. She is passionate about artist development, creating inclusive and supportive performance spaces, mentoring emerging talent, and championing opportunities for established performers, including artists over 40.

Away from the spotlight, Dolores is an accomplished event manager with a Graduate Diploma in Event Management, combining creative vision with exceptional production expertise to deliver high-quality events recognised throughout the entertainment industry.

What to Bring

Footwear:  We’ll start with barefoot or socks and transition to heels you’re comfortable dancing in. I highly suggest good quality ballroom/latin dance heels

Attire: Wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move and stretch in as well as a hoodie/sweatshirt/robe with zipper, buttons or tie as we will work with peels & reveals

Also bring: Water, towel, knee pads (highly suggested)

With 20+ years of experience, she teaches dance & performance skills through the lenses of neo-burlesque, classic dance techniques, theater, and breaking/hip hop. As 2019 Burlesque Hall of Fame Princess & 2016-2023 21st Century Burlesque Magazine Top 50 Most Influential Industry Figures, The Cyclone of Burlesque is bringing a unique perspective, honest guidance, and a wide range of knowledge with a gentle hand to practitioners of burlesque. RedBone curates classes and workshops annually at The African American Arts & Culture Complex in SF & Flux Vertical Theatre in Berkeley in Spring & Fall and for The Bay Area Legends Challenge Fundraiser. Recently she’s been a featured teacher at Slut Camp, The Atlanta School of Burlesque, What The Funk!? and BurlyCon.

Under the warm, motivational guidance of RedBone, “The Cyclone of Burlesque,” you’ll learn the foundational building blocks of the art form—from magnetic struts and dramatic tension to playful bumps, grinds, and shimmies.
