Becky Lou has been starting fires in the nation’s hearts and pants since her debut with Perth’s Sugar Blue Burlesque in 2008. Bursting on to Melbourne’s thriving performance scene in 2010, she quickly won hearts with her combination of smouldering classic tease and irreverent comedy.
Currently one of Victoria’s most in-demand hoochie coochers, Becky Lou is a resident performer at Fitzroy’s Burlesque Bar and a regular at Red Bennies, La Di Da and Bohemia. In 2012, she produced and performed in the boundary pushing neo-burlesque show ‘Sex Pest’ for the Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festivals with her company, Precious Gift Burlesque. Becky Lou has featured in The Australian Burlesque Festival each year since it’s first and was a national finalist in Miss Burlesque Australia 2010. She has been part of many of the country’s most memorable burlesque events, including Gorelesque, Perth Burlesque Festival and this year’s Big Band Burlesque Show for Adelaide Fringe. She has taught classic burlesque striptease for Bottoms Up Burlesque School and is a principal teacher at The Australian Burlesque School.
Ms Lou can often be found marvelling at the good fortune she has to be paid to sip champagne in dressing rooms with her beautiful naked best friends and to be applauded for making up little dances and jiggling her generous curves about the country.
